Overview
The mandate of the CCIC Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics
Facility is to provide state-of-the-art instrumentation to The
Ohio State University and the surrounding research community.
The nature of our laboratory allows for both routine analyses
for faculty who can not afford nor desire the purchase of their
own mass spectrometry instrumentation and yet our Facility also
provides researchers the opportunity and access to very
sophisticated experiments by working closely in a true
collaborative effort between faculty, students and staff.
The Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Facility at CCIC clearly is
an interdisciplinary unit, servicing faculty from the colleges
of Agriculture, Biological Sciences, The Byrd Polar Research
Center, Dentistry, Engineering,
Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, and
Veterinary Medicine. CCIC also serves scientists from other
universities and industry within and outside of Ohio, including
SUNY, North Dakota State University, University of Arkansas,
Crompton Corporation, University of Georgia, Montana State,
Duke, Oklahoma, and UOP. The majority of the users are
performing research supported by NIH.
The laboratory is equipped to offer a broad range of services
with five state of the art mass spectrometers. We recently have
expanded our services to include Proteomic Analyses. The
Associate Director for Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Facility
is Dr Kari Green-Church specializing in biological application
mass spectrometry. She also manages and coordinates special
projects for the facility. Four support staff mass spectrometrists provide quality service to meet the research
needs of our users. |
