Tech time for all instruments

OH Consortium

Industry
PER HOUR PER HOUR PER HOUR
  $33.00 $50.00 $125.00

There will be a minimum of half hour charge for tech and run times

Example: The 800 Riffe instrument was used for 8 hours by an OSU researcher. The charge will be 4 x $7.00 + 4 x $6.00 = $52.20.

* The 600 (CBEC) instrument is available for walk-up experiments and is billed according to actual usage to the minute.

** DNP radicals may be provided and the associated cost to be billed accordingly.

NMR Time Cancellation Fee Policy

To minimize no-shows and increase the availability of NMR instrumentation cancellation fees will be introduced:

  • No cancellation fee if >24 hours in advance (i.e. ‘cancellation window’)
  • Within the cancellation window, the full NMR rate will be applied up to 24 hours of reserved time
  • If a only a fraction of the reserved time is used, the unused time will be treated according to the rules above
  • Example: A user reserves 5 days, but uses only the first 2 days before cancelling the remainder of their session (days 3-5). The user is charged 24 hours of the remaining time.
  • If reserved time cannot be used by a user (e.g. because of sample preparation issues), the user must cancel their reservation and the new user (must be trained and have approved CCIC NMR FOM acccount) reserve the time in order to ensure proper billing and reporting for the instruments.
  • The cancellation fee applies regardless of whether the reserved NMR can be taken up by another user (unless he/she is from the same lab)
  • A grace period applies for a lab’s first offense: a notification will be sent to the PI but no charge is applied
  • Cancellation policy will be monitored and will be adjusted as necessary
